In what is well known as a male dominated sport, Ms. Jackson is currently one of the only female boxing presidents in the world. She has been a  volunteer member on the CIBA Board of Directors since 2011, becoming President in 2017. She is an Executive Member of the Cayman Islands Olympic Committee and an elected member of the Caribbean Steering Committee for boxing leadership in the Caribbean region.  In 2018 she was elected to the Executive Committee of the American Boxing Confederation (AMBC). She is also one of only a handful of internationally certified AIBA International Technical Official’s in the English speaking Caribbean.

Leyla currently works as an Associate Director in the financial services sector but was a Senior Lecturer at the Cayman Islands Law School for almost 7 years.
